Popular enough. There are a lot of people on the servers, in the Steam workshop they are uploading a lot of new addons

Well honestly its dead. And either way, it has always been some hassle to make a server.

Lots of work just to end up with 0 players. Or barely a few. Its heavily satured.

I've seen Gmod very popular still, especially when its not heavy demanding in Graphics, CPU etc. and its cheap.

I mean it's slowly dying and if i were you id search for cheap hosting, no point in spending hella bucks on a game that isnt even that popular anymore yk. But then again its not completely dead so do what you think is best.

Depends what you mean by dying. Roleplay is dying, yes, but TTT, darkrp and murder will be around for a long time yet.
