Is RTX Worth it ?

ive been debating getting a RTX but it seems shaders do the trick

I've been sticking with shaders too. Its a bummer I miss out on true raytracing, but I just bought a 1080ti and I don't want to buy another high-end card for a while. A friend of mine has had a 1080ti for 2 years now and they seem to have no problem with it doing shaders
