Is garry's mod dead?

Used to play it a lot when I was younger, now I hop on and it doesn't feel the same at all and it seems significantly smaller than it used to be. Any one know what happened?

Servers died out over time... I just got back in and got hit with a rush of nostalgia

feels like it has. lot less stuff to do and always the same admins with power hunger

This feels really familiar, some servers are kinda okay but the majority of them are overbloated with addons which make you lag. The staff members are often toxic & power hungry. Garry's mod will never be the same as it was before 2014.
