Is it feasible to make a server today? In what gamemode?

I'm thinking of opening a server, you know, a dedicated one of more than 32 gb of ram probably, but I don't know if it's feasible to open a server in 2020, what do you think?

Yes it is! i do have my own minecraft server with daily 150 player base. For me that's enough for paying all rent for hosting services, and get profit for myself.

I have a personal build server for myself, Got plenty of RAM and processing power, since I just create maps it's perfect for me. Had a few people play on it but I couldn't get it optimized well enough. My network isn't as good :(
