PHP is still very good nowadays. It is not slow and the stack is mature enougth to use this technology with no or low tradeof.

No websocket but https://mercure.rocks/ (which scale better).

The latest PHP version (8.1) will alow multicore asynchronous web apps where javascript is monocore.

PHP is just fine. Any language is good if you're using it properly and within the right context

PHP still gets you around. No concerns there.

Check PhpStorm if you need an IDE.

PHP is still a big thing even tho javascript is getting a lot of impact on new websites and I don't think PHP will not be used any time soon.

Laravel makes PHP relevant for modern web app development. Laravel rocks.

But otherwise, the answer to the question is completely dependent on what your goal is.
- A career as a software developer: Probably not PHP
- Freelance web development: Definitely PHP
- Need flexibility to run code on things other than a web server: Not PHP.
