Yep, all social media is essentially spyware on steroids. TikTok is only worse in that it's a Chinese based company. If other countries don't do something about social media as a whole, the future could be pretty bleak. They are concentrating power and restricting knowledge at the same time. Seriously some dystopian shit going on.

lol, funny question... It is well known that the Chinese government like to collect personal information and spy on people. Therefore I wouldn't be surprised if they use TikTok to spy and collect data from its users.

It is a spy. But so is every third or even second social media app. Just imagine your voice assistant. How would it know when you're saying the wake up phrase without 24/7 listening to your mic?

The terms of use state that TikTok may transfer all of your data to the Chinese government without your consent.
