My advice, listen to a lot of piano music, really try to break the notes apart while you listen. Watch videos of people playing.
I do think all of this depends on your learning style, but mine is very visual and auditory. I wouldn't learn that well from repetitious lessons, but some people would. There are apps on your phone that you can download to practice sight reading. I've never been very good at that aspect, but I compose my own music and I think I have a good grasp of structure and theory from analyzing a lot of music. That's important too.
