Photoshop = Image Editing

Illustrator = Design creation

Logos and all are done in illustrator so you can rescale them without loosing quality

It depends on what your trying to make style wise. Adobe photoshop is very useful in many ways, but when making something from scratch I highly recommend illustrator. Its tools are more precise and with guidelines and adjusting paths made with the pen tool. Have fun learning and I recommend my video recommendation thread for help.

Illustrator to make them and photoshop to put them into their own place to be printed.

I think this thread belongs to this ( https://nulledbb.com/forum-Requests-and-Help ) section and not the graphics showcase section.
Anyways, if you're new to designing which i am assuming you are, don't worry about the software.
Start with whatever you can get your hands on, its easy to migrate between adobe softwares.

Personally, i think you should start with photoshop, it has an easier learning curve and a range of posibilites other than just logo designing which illustrator may seem to restrict.

A pen and paper is enough to begin with logo designing, its about the ideas. Implementing it digitally is the easier part, focus on creativity more than technicalities. I am myself not a very pro logo designer so i can't give your more insights of the progress than this.

Good luck!

You can export them in illustrator. No need to bring it to photoshop in order to print.

Only the first response is accurate, but might not be understood by a newcomer.

In simple words, if you create a Vector image be it in illustrator, Inkscape or any vector-based software, it means you can resize your vector-image even by zooming in a hundred times, and it won't lose its quality, it will preserve its sharpness and clarity, which is why Logos are done as vectors, because they might be needed to be magnified to be printed on a whole building, so if it was a JPEG/PNG image it will get distorted and blurred and will look smudged and unworthy to be used.

On the other hand, if you magnify a vector a million times, it will look as good as the original one, hence Logos are created as Vectors, .AI or .SVG as an example.

For every other Photo-processing, effects, paintings, editings, then Photoshop/GIMP are the answer.

For drawing Mangas and co, then you should use specialized software like Paintstorm.

Hi.

I want to know a difference between Photoshop and Illustrator.

Which is the best to design a logo? Thanks

As a designer myself you need to know what you're making.

If you're making an illustrated logo, then illustrator is the best way to go! If you're doing text logos and so forth, use Photoshop but make sure to use really high pixels and quality so that as previous user's said so that you don't get the logo pixelated.
