Glad you asked that so here's a break down:

If someone has the same username and same discrim that you change it to:

Example:

Max#0666 (Not real just a example)

It will change your discrim by default

I'd recommend using a discord bot like Dyno bot to check before changing your discrim.

Right so aslong as another Max doesnt exist on the #0666 then the number won't change?

Exactly, If the same name and same discrim already exists it will change.
