It wasn't a bad decision because Microsoft will take good care of Minecraft. On the other hand the updates as far as I'm concerned are by far detailed. The only problem I have with Minecraft is the bedrock edition. The PE or bedrock edition always had microtransactions in them. I never really thought that Minecraft need micro transactions because of this I only play the java edition because everything is free including mods.
I think it was a good idea on Microsofts part. I like where the game is at now in terms of updates. I wish they did the update trailers how they were done before though :< If Minecraft wasn't bought by Microsoft I think the game could have died without the massive push for Cross Play and Bedrock versions. And yeah, I still play minecraft. I don't like bedrock all that much though just due to some small things that could easilyyyyy be fixed but whatever. The team working on Bedrock doesn't seem to think they are important to gameplay. I will stick to Java Edition as thats where most of my friends play, but for those few with just a switch or phone on them I love being able to still play from mouse and keyboard with cross play.
