I've got both, I personally would go for a PC. Unless you have friends on Xbox already, 100% go with a new PC.

Dont know if I should save up for a new build or just go back to console but I love pc a lot more. Thoughts.
PC is generally better. You can do more and get access to a large library. You get access to free online multiplayer. My biggest problem with console is if a new one comes out, you can't play your existing games on the new console. On PC, you can pick up a game even 40 years old and still play it. You get access to substantial modding as well as creativity like the Steam Workshop and GameBanana. And if you get invested, you can start recording gameplay and editing videos straight on your PC. You don't have to have the best PC to play games exceptionally; lowering graphics settings allows you to reach framerates you want. Some people prefer graphics over framerate and that is a decision you can make with a lower-end system.

VR is also a thing that is much superior on PC due to the community developing for it. I spent $150 on a Windows Mixed Reality VR headset and controllers and have no problem playing amazing games like Pavlov and Half Life: Alyx

In my experience, I bought a GTX 1060 back in 2016 and I'm still using it today with no hiccups. I upgraded from a 4th Gen i3 to a Ryzen 7 in 2018 and it has no chance of slowing down anytime soon. In total, I've spent $750 on hardware but that is over a 6-year period. You really don't have to spend as much as I did to get a good gaming experience.

A big thing for me, is getting free triple-A games from Epic,UPlay, and Origin,as well as closed/openbetas. Right now I've been playing a lot of Valorant, a game that console will never see.

A PC is far more versatile from gaming standpoint and also from all other stuff.
If you simply think about graphical differences between the two..
Messing around with game development helped me to develop an eye for that and notice stuff like that. A good PC will always outplay consoles.
