Opinions on where Half life is going?

After Half Life Alyx it seems like the whole Mossman mission with the helicopter is forgotten. Or maybe not? Valve does have some insanely smart writers so I'm guessing they will be able to connect the loose strings. Maybe when Eli and Mossman go to Borealis, the ship is used as a weapon to enter the realm that Alyx is kept at?
