Rap is just terrible

The songs that this generation listens too are some cheese. All the same beat, nothing different. There is no singing its just them talking over some drums and sound effects. Anyone can do it if they really try. Music just isn't as good as it used to be, and or as generic.

I partly agree with you. Rap nowadays is not very good, mainly because it seems "simple" to sing, you don't have to be intoned, and most of "rap" songs lyrics doesn't even have a meaning; but old school rap and rappers like Eminem (who are considered old, compared to the new generation rap) were amazing with a lyrics full of meaning and their structure was almost like poems' structure

I a 100% agree, rap today is just people mumbling and nothing has meaning. All it is are just some random lad mumbling about how they get thrown in jail because of racism, but in the next song they sing about doing cocaine, drugs and guns and stuff.

Mmmm yeah I suppose the mainstream isn't great but most mainstream stuff isn't that good. Kendrick is mainstream but he's one of the best lyricists in the game atm. Listen to Shogun, he's scottish and doesn't just rap about drugs and guns

Checked him out, and you're not wrong. He isn't terrible, actually has decent beats.

I fucking agree, even though i enjoy quite a few rap songs it's fucking lame and a atrocity

It always catches me off guard when I look at the Spotify Top 50 lists. All the songs are either rap or EMD. What happened to all the good music? Am I just getting old and grumpy?
