"Retro" Anime/Manga Recommendations?

I just recently finished Battle Angel: Alita and I'm thinking about picking up Trigun. Something about the style of older anime like that really do scratch an itch in my brain. Anybody have any good shows or manga they can recommend? I'm kinda new to the older stuff and I'd like to know what yall think :-) thanks in advance!
