I have a 2014 Mac Book pro and was going to upgrade to Big Sur but saw thishttps://www.macworld.co.uk/news/macos-big-sur-bricks-older-macbook-pro-models-3798046/

Seems that the update is bricking macbooks like mine. Anyone have a 2013/14 Macbook pro and successfully upgrade to Big Sur?

Or should I stay using Catalina?

Thanks

I'd stick with Catalina for a couple months to be safe

Probably stay until you know more. Some programs stopped working for my friends so be careful if there's some software you really need

I upgraded my MAc Book pro (2016) and no problem at all. I guess it depends on resources as it brings a lot of new stuff that needs more Ram memory
