Scariest thing that has ever happened to you

I once was in my house alone and someone broke in, I was hiding in my basement until they left. I don't remember what they stole because it was a long time ago

The scariest thing that has probably happened to me is someone was in my backyard when I was home and I thought them were going to break into my home.

My mother told me she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. She's going to the hospital on the 31st to remove a tumor on the tail of her pancreas. I'm afraid,

I fell asleep on the couch at around 6-7 pm and woke up at a 4 am in the middle of my backyard when it was raining.

This happened in 2014, December

I was working as a fresher in an MNC in Mumbai staying away from my hometown and parents. I have this habit of talking to my parents twice a day, while leaving for work and once after coming back from work.

I had a normal day at work and while coming back, I called mom but she didn't answer. I tried twice and then I left thinking that she might be busy and will call back once she sees my missed calls. But this didn't happen. No call from mom, neither from dad. I took it casually and slept.

Woke up next morning and called again. This time mom picked and she sounded very anxious, and I could easily sensed it from the tone of her voice. I asked her what happened, and she said she was busy last night and I shouldn't be worried and should focus on my day wishing me to have a good day. I asked her to pass on the phone to my father. She said he is busy and he will call me back. I said okay and disconnected. This happened again in the evening. I found it very strange because my dad never missed out talking to me without calling me back.

This continued for two long days and on the third day, my uncle picked the call and this time I asked him about my dad and why ain't they letting me talk to him. My uncle finally told me that my father has suffered two brain haemorrhages and got a paralytic attack too, and he is currently admitted in ICU. His entire left body was paralysed and he couldn't move, leave aside talking. This scared the hell out of me. I being the elder child of my parents suddenly started getting all the negative thoughts and started imagining everything which I have ever read or seen about losing your father. I left for my hometown in the evening. I had seen my dad in the most worst condition which I would never want anyone else to face in their life.

My dad has very strong will power. He took 8months to recover and walk and to bring his life back in motion. He doesn't look like a person who has ever been attacked with paralysis. I cannot be more thankful to god for this.

house got broken in to by a crack addict, had to persuade him that it wasnt his house and called the police

My uncle told me that he has abused kids before and he tried to abuse me as a child but my penis would always get hard so he got uncomfortable and ended up not doing anything. I'm glad that sick bastard is now in jail but he has tried to get me killed for a while.

When i was about 8 or so my next door neighbors would come over to our property in the dead of night. They like to go through our shed but one night the old ass guy that lived over there was doped up on something and actually walked into our house and just acted like he lived there. He came busting up in my brothers room acting like he was some kind of trespasser saying he is going to call the cops. Long story short my dad ended up giving him a few bruises to the face before the cops arrived. After that the neighbors would stand in the street across from us and yell and cuss at us if we walked out of our home. Literally lived next door to crazy people.
