#1 Alright so I've been reading lots of manga lately, and since I don't have the option to buy mangas, I resort to manga websites, like Manga Rock.
These sites offer a prettybigcatalog of mangas as you would expect from a manga site, but the problem here is that most of these 'mangas' aren't mangas they are manhuas or manhwas (Chinese and Korean mangas, respectively). The issue itself isn't their origins or anything like that, I'm fine with them not being Japanese, but they dilute the catalog of mangas with generic copies of other books.
This makes it so people who enjoy reading mangas in an uncontrolled fashion (like me), read basically the same book but with a different aesthetic: the plot premise is the same, the characters follow the same archetypes, and the setting is almost the same. To be completely honest, I don't know why people even bother to write mangas like these, if I were to write a manga, I would make it so the book had its own character and personality, and not a straight up copy of other people's ideas. The most overused concept I've seen recently is where the protagonist dies fighting the bad guy and goes back in time with all of his memories.
This issue also spreads to anime in the form ofisekai. The genre is so oversaturated with shit anime, that I tend to avoid any kind of anime with theisekaigenre tagged on it. It makes me wonder why these are even made, it's clear that an anime with an original concept that's executed well surpasses this generic kind of anime. I guess they're not confident enough in their ability to make an engaging story, so they prefer to stick with the same generic shit. This scourge is affecting both manga and anime alike, and it really makes me worry about the future of the industry.
I'd really like to hear the opinions of you guys on thismatter..
