#1 I know everyone says this but its true. No one has lyrics anymore and it is depressing. I used to be able to vibe out but now its all boring
RE: Seems like rap is really going downhill lately 26-01-2020, 12:08 PM #2 I think rap is less about actual ideas now, and more about feelings if that makes sense. Especially these soundcloud kids. Like everything they write is just a soundtrack to getting high or getting laid/something like that.

Its more about the music and production and i think in 2-3 years new rappers can adapt to that style plus bring in some good lyrics (not about drugs and being depressed etc...)

There will always be people that don't understand new genres and so on but think about it this way; When everyone listened to Mozart and all the other artists in his genre and a new music genre or era appeared then people disliked that at first aswell however after a while people started listening to that genre aswell. The same goes for every single type of music genre, it developes and sometimes into something that the majority of people dislike.
On a side note though, there's still some good lyrical artists that pops up once in a while or atleast some who doesn't do all the "trap" & "sad" rap genre. IDK is one of them, try listen to him if you got the time.
