Hi just wondering what kind of coins you all think are currently profitable or maybe worth investing in, my college teacher is mining abit of ETH at the moment so I kinda wanna give it ago, is it best to mine LTC, ETH or Monero I'd probably need some kit to be able to mine can anyone give advice on getting started or other good things to invest in.

In my opinion, I would invest the money instead of buying a mining rig. If you want mid-term investments go for Ethereum, for long-term investments, Ripple or Iota.

Eye okay thanks, I may look into just investing however dont have much to invest but might be worth it in the long runSmile so you reckon its better to invest in the currency instead of a like say 2 GPU starting rig at the moment, heard they can make like 400-500 a year not too pad if u take into power for the year also gunna try educate myself abit more on it or look at other ways of making money as well as my lil pizza job ahaha

that's the deal mate, the cheapest mining rig would be around 500, and to get that amount back, you would need to wait 1 year to profit from it.
By investing, I'm pretty sure you would get that in no time. Ripple, for example, got from 0.24$ to 0.35$, which represents around 40% increase, which means, that if you invested 100, in under a day, you would have a 40 profit already. But that's the problem, you never know which ones will get that boost. Those coins are the ones I find promising.

@Eye Okay thanks man, think Im going to look into maybe just buying some Ethereum and just holding it and see if it goes up, and maybe some mining but yeah as you said its not too profitable unless I went for it, and even then to pay off the rig would take a year. Can you suggest any websites or ways to buy ether or ripple. Or watch the market kinda new to the buying and mining side of crypto also a good ?wallet

Edit: not sure if I was clear Eye like any websites to trade on or mobile apps to keep me updated with ether and also websites or good things to be trading in st the moment that are good, think Im gunna go for ether and some other random coin then maybe look at some mining in the future but need to look into electricity costs

Update: Just registered on Coinbase and setup a new email for just crypto and some secure super secret passwords. Any good sites for watching the live market?

Coin Market
https://coinmarketcap.com/

Wallet for Eth - Coinbase
Wallet for Ripple - Gatehub

My man, Ripple just went from 0.24$ to 0.46$, which means 70% higher in 2 days, you would almost double your investment if you invested on ripple.

Genuine opinion my dad invests in this quite alot, i find it interesting to watch and the best piece of advice ive heard from him to other people, was invest in other crypto currencies like Neo (a very fast growing currency) or ethereum which could potentially be the next bitcoin as its rapidly increasing in comparison to bitcoin, for example ethereum was up by 4.7% on monday when bitcoin was down by 3.7%, so if i had to say, it would be better investing personally i believe anyway hope this is helpful
