Our society is advanced enough that people can usually explore more things to enrich their life, so what's effectively a majorly extended lifespan would be a good thing overall. However, since you spend most of your life working, and would probably have to continue doing that to provide for your more plentiful years, I think there would be a limit to how long you're willing to keep living until it feels like a slog.

This is a great, deep question. IMO it depends. Are you religious? Do you believe there is life after death? If yes, then Immortality is something that is difficult to believe. If you fear there is nothing after life, we die and forgotten, then immortality is a must and would be heaven. But for the sake of argument, let's say we achieved immortality. After so many years (1000 years), wouldn't we get bored of everything? Sex, Money, drinking, whatever your cup may be! Also, this would call for population controller. Meaning only the richest of the rich would be able to have kids, and keep the immortality. Perhaps like the movie "TIME". This questions calls for another topic? :D

Thank you for the answer! the problem is that you could still die from violent actions, so getting to 1k years would be pretty difficult. the richer people could still die, so there would be no problem with that.

depends, I mean, If you have incredibly lofty goals and were probably froze in the age range of late 20s/early 30s I could see it being pretty awesome

Life is hard enough as is, I'd rather not do this forever. As a species we would be stunted as we wouldn't get new ideas coming in to facilitate growth. I'm fine with 80 years or so

if immortality is for all then its ok because humans want money and forget to live his life

Life is hard as it is already. Knowing that you are immortal will make it even worse. Watching how others around you disappear and you are the only one left could really break you.

Yes, I am the same! Forever is so much time and i do not think it is good. I am liking 100 years.

at first it would be good, but then I think it would be depressing to live forever

A resounding yes here. I'm not sure if people who think they'd get bored think the world/universe just isn't that interesting or have limited imaginations, but I'm pretty sure I could keep myself entertained for a good 10k years at least, and I'd hope that mankind had advanced enough (with my help and guidance) to make the place much more interesting. I'm not much interested in people in general, so once i'd grieved for my current family and friends, I'd probably keep to either fellow immortals if there are any, have passing acquaintances, and being a geneticist, I'd probably try cloning myself at least once. I notice you've pointed out that it would be difficult to survive till 1000, but the sheer fact you are age locked makes it a lot more likely to live a couple hundred at least, by which point technology and medical science will have advanced to extend that and make it easier to survive. Yeah, immortality would be pretty sweet, I'd get so much science done.

Just off the top of my head: yeah. But if I think about it, I'm pretty sure after a few hundred, or thousand years, it would get really boring. Not to mention, in today's "everything on" world, someone would track you down and realize you're not getting any older - i mean, who would you renew your passport and stuff. Every few years you'd have to get another fake identity so you don't end up having to say you were born in 150 AD while you still look 30.
Maybe I'm being too practical, but it just seems like a real hassle.
