Alright I am writing chemical compounds into chemical formulas. Potassium Acetate is confusing me.

I want to put down KCH3COO, but when I check my answer on google is tells me CH3CO2K

Is there a run when the order of the system to be in a different order or is either answer correct?

You should ask Walter White he knows his shit.

Google is showing you the order if using the Hill system. "The Hill system states the carbon atoms are listed first, hydrogen atoms next and all others are then listed in alphabetical order. The reason for putting C and H up front is because there are so many hydrocarbon molecules" (Source)

However, both answers are correct.

Thank you for the clarification! I was really confused and glad to know that there is multiple correct formulas to write potassium acetate. I donated 5 credits to your account for your research and explanation. Thank you so much! <3
