It makes me relax and calm. During bouts of depression I would paint and draw to express my emotion (did some pretty fucked up art thats for sure).

I do music, paint, and poster design because of passion. I used to do photography for passion, but now mainly for money. Funny how when something becomes money based the passion dies a little.

I'm big on drawing (never really could get my way into traditional painting) and my biggest drive for doing it is because there aren't really any limits to what I can do when I'm drawing. I have a super active imagination and have never had any issues drawing things without the use of tracing/reference images. It also is a good way to relax and especially right now with everything going on it is a good way to keep myself happy and stops me from being bored. I have done some work for monetary reward but not as much as I could be doing it for. A lot of people will ask me for custom pieces and I really should start saying yes and taking those requests hahaha

Because for a lot of artists it's the only way you can really express yourself. For example, I have a hard time opening up about certain things from my past, but I can write a story and label it fiction and let it all out that way. And when I sketch, it's because there's no other way to convey the image that's in my head to other people.... or bc someone paid me lol

I didn't ever make art for the money in the first place. I always wanted to share what I like with the rest of the world and I did. Getting some small money back for it was only something I accepted as a sign of others enjoying what I created. Art never paid my rent and most likely never will. But I'll continue.

I make art so I can express myself and to keep stress away since I put all my focus on it. The money is just bonus which I'm happily willing to take :D
