Should i Use a vps?

I was wondering if i should use a dedicated vps or just a hosted server , i have hosted sevral servers before but i would like to create a larger server and spend money and time on it to get it up and running with players and hopefully make my payment back eventually aswell as having fun, what host would you recomend and what should i use a vps or just a server?

I dont know what this is, but i wouldnt use it

it depend what type of minecraft servers you want to host modded vs non modded will the servers has plugins or not and the amount of ram!, but i would recommend a dedicated server start the spec of small 16gb ram 2 x 1 tb hard drives and at least a cpu with 4 cores + and as you grow you can upgrade the hardware over time

Depends. Do you want a fast, good minecraft server? Then host one. If you want a quick free one, use a vps server.

a vps for hosting or playing minecraft idk but it would be nice to see you set it up Xd

I think its more reliable to use a regular hosting, a vps will left much resources

Personally, I would use a VPS considering there are more pro's to it than cons. You're on a private server which means less of a chance of you getting hacked. Nowadays I would not be surprised if you where to get hacked even with using a VPS, I would be shocked just not surprised. Plus not mention you can run just about anything the OS lets you run. They are cheaper than a PS (Physical Server), so I would try a VPS.


Don't go for the bullshit server's that are cheap, go for the expensive mid ones and try those out first. I would definitely look into Blue Host or HostGator they got pretty good VPS. Decisions your's though.....

A vps is the best to host a game server, you can use OVH that has very good prices friend!

As one of the biggest Hong Kong Minecraft Network ex server owner, I think VPS is better(sometimes), still depends on the server location and the server hosting company. But, you still have to think about DDOS protection.
