So "my friend"saw this way of making easy money, and "hes"dumb as fuck for doing it. Now "hes"am pretty sure "he"will be getting arrested or some shit.

So "my friend"was selling fake tickets (that didnt exist) to bonnaroo festival for $250, and he got money from like 8 people. he made somewhere around $1700. Well now a bunch of them are reporting himto the police and I am pretty sure at this point he isfucked.

Now would they take something serious if it was around 1500-1700 dollars. its not like it was 10k, he refunded as many people as he could and now hes down to $30 and cant refund anyone else.

Lets say hes also 17, hes getting charged as an adult too huh?

That is a really thin line between a civil case and fraud. I would lean more towards fraud on that one, and if that is the case they'd probably go to jail. If he can make it a civil case then he won't face time just fines. Call a lawyer asap though.

Yeah but my friends parents would kill him, so maybe he could just chill out until maybe the police contact him?

Also what would make it a civil case vs criminal??????????????????????????????????

The police don't care about what the parents think.

Just have him not really contact the buyers with more info than needed. If they ask for an address give it to them, but ONLY if they ask for it. It may not be worth their time to pursue it legally.

Fraud: wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.

As for criminal vs civil your looking at the police, and victims to make that call.

But wouldn't what "he" did be considered fraud considering the fact he did it for financial gain?

If "he" is 17 "he" won't be tried as an adult and, if caught would have to pay a fine

But "he" should've been smarter and not have tried to pull this stunt in the first place. Sorry if I sound like "his" mother but I'm just saying.
