Just watched it this year. Its actually pretty okay.

I really love the series and the theme song. I even had a forum for stranger things

First thought was not to watch it but I did it because why not and I really enjoyed it so yea if I was you I would see it.

Yeah, first season is good, second one seems kinda dragged out but still good fun to watch.

I really like it. The 80s vibe is pretty authentic and the story line is very unique and cool. I won't say anything specific to spoil it for you, but if you like sci-fi and adventure genres you'd probably like it.
