Some interesting statistics about email...

  • 269 billion emails sent per day in 2017 (with281 billion projected for 2018)
  • 49.7% is considered spam (top spam-generating countries areUnited States, China, and Russia, withBelarus having thehighest amountper capita)
  • 2.3% contains a malicious attachment
  • There are ~3.8 billion email users (this includes bothbusiness/consumer emails, so many people are counted multiple times)
  • Each workday, the average office worker receives 121 emails and sends 40 emails
  • Tuesday is the best day to send an email (because more emailsare opened Tuesday than any other day of the week)
  • 33%of mobile users say they've read an email based onitssubject line

I found it interesting anyway.. personally, I'm surprisedthat the percentage of spam isn't higher. At firstI was alsoa bit dumbfounded byhow much email the averageworker sends and receives, but pretty sure that each recipient/cc/bcccounts as an email, so it'snot too surprising when you throw in a few back-and-forths.

Life is like a box of chocolates, it doesn't last as long for fat people.
