#1 idk i forgot was he was called but its the new champ in the PBE who was a blacksmith and looks like alistar xD

It's nice not having to leave the lane to get minor upgrades for items, or when you only need 500g to upgrade an item. His upgrades for other items can be a bit crazy as well. The raw amount of health you get from the Sunfire Cape upgrade for example is well beyond worth it in the raw amount of stats you get from it. Rabadon's is pretty nutty too in the sheer amount of stats you can get with the upgrade, so mages might finally buy the item again.
It helps A LOT that he is fun to play as well. I don't think I have used an ult that was more satisfying.
