Useful things that can be done with hex editing?

I learned it so I can hack some older games and I thinkI'm good at it, but I'd like to put it to better use. What are some useful things I can do with hex editing?

not much. You can map some cheat tables (like using CheatEngine). I suggest using Ghidra if you want to reverse engineer.

Hex editor is powerful against older games from the jar era, other than those.. they can't do much
