i see it as a way of "testing", for instance games. I don't want to dish out X amount money on a game only to be disappointed or not finding it enjoyable. However, there have been multiple instances where I played through an entire cracked game like Nier;Automata, bought it and played it through again. I wanted to support the creators for such an amazing work of art~

or games that require an online connection of course...

It really depends. All products of adobe need to be pirated in my eyes lol
Some companies don't care about their userbase, why should we care about them ?
Besides their products are really expensive and still full of bugs and what not

Piracy can be subjective depending on which viewpoint you look at.

sometimes i would pirate something to see if i like it and then buy it later so that im not really stealing

Your argument really has no place. Surveys are meant to get information, there is no proper or improper survey. That's all I wanted to do. I know you might've meant that the answers may be biased, but it's still nice to know. LOL.
