It's strange enough that they decided to change the name of the company, because it's a big expense. Facebook has already recently lost a lot of money due to incorrect operation of servers.

Lots of companies over the years have changed their name. Mark wants "Facebook" to be the hub and loads of subsidiaries around it (Instagram, Whatsapp etc) so the term Meta makes sense for them. The Term Facebook is also no longer correct for what they do. When they made that name they had no idea what their company would become.

Whatever Zuckerberg is doing, it will succeed

I think its odd, because it was a concept in the past and I believe they stopped working on it back then. But now they brought it back and it does not seem like they updated or changed much about it. Although, I am curious to see how it turns out.
