Police are people too. Everyone should be respected. There are bad people out there and they do become cops. The cop was definitely in the wrong and should be punished but there still are good people out there who are are cops. Defunding them sounds like a bad idea, it seems like it might make things worse. They should have more training and maybe not give all of them a gun. Like other countries give them a club and maybe only have very few numbers that can qualify to hold a gun on duty.

I mean he doesn't deserve to die like that, but autopsy says fent/choking. Fent will slow breathing and the constraint on his neck would have helped this along. I guess Derek Chavin will get a few years the other 3 will get nothing.

The cop is perfectly innocent...watch the trial...he never even laid his leg on the neck but the media continues to spin it anyways.

I feel like many people are taking this as an advantage to burn, loot, and murder.

There is always going to be people like that and if you are such a big country as the US where you need a lot of cops it will be hard to prevent things like that.
Not saying that it is impossible but it is hard to know if someone will do something like that ahead of time.

The police in the US is a greatly flawed institution. Due to their gun policy, it is a much harder and more stressful job to do in comparison to other developed countries in the world - officers are scared and in some situations tend to overreact, but in most cases there is no punishment for killing a (usually black) person. This situation is a result of many coexisting problems and there is no simple solution to it. Reforming the police and teaching the officers how to do their job properly would obviously be very helpful.

The murder of George Floyd is different from most of these accidental police murders - Floyd was killed in a situation when he just wasn't any kind of a threat to anyone, and he was slowly suffocated while crying and begging for mercy. Chauvin should without a shade of a doubt be sentenced to serve years in prison for murder.

I personally think such incidents really show how evil some humans beings can be to others.

What do you think about it?

The police officer isnt racist. He genuinely had no thought to what george was saying was true. hindsight is always 20/20 and he may regret it.

Trust me, I love our police force in the US, and they do right by everyone a good chunk of the time. The Floyd inncident wasn't about race, it was all about the wanting to harm someone. Chauvin got what he deserved.
