What do you think of religions?

Some people beed that guidance, that hope that there is more, and hope that there is something bigger and to look forward to. Also, some people need religion to tell them how to act, because maybe they have some baser instinct they need to control. Personally, I am not a big fan of religion. I think it has gone beyond its original purpose and is now used to control people. I think originally it was used to help people understand what world around them and teach them how and why they need to act certain ways. They are stories and not be taken literally, imo.

I just have my problems with those who exaggerate it like forcing their religion to others, be blind about everything because of their religion and just talk about it 24/7. I had someone like that in a discord server where every second person had the same religion (the owner as well) but everyone wanted him to get kicked because he just exaggerated it.
