FORTRAN. I learnt it in my first semester at college, didn't really like it.

I taught myself a decent amount of Java in early High School, but didn't actually take any classes for programming until college. The first programming-specific class I took was for C, but I took a class before it that had a lot of Visual Basic involved with it.

I actually started about 10 years ago with some basic HTML and CSS, setting up a site for one of my best friends at the time.

C++ was my first introduction to traditional programming and was kinda a turn off of programming. Before that I did CNC programming for manufacturing. I have passing knowledge with perl and python, but what I actually use is IDL and Matlab.

C++ Because it's universal,.

And c# Because it works like C++

I tried out C and C++ but for some reason they never really stuck. Then I took up Python and it seems to be the one that sticks the most, though I'm still terrible at it and mostly use it for stuff Ren'Py that is "advanced" for Ren'Py (but like a little baby in actual Python.)

Took a class in pascal, then taught myself c++ by jumping into the half-life SDK.

As for java tutorials, it depends on how you learn... I tend to learn the best by taking apart existing projects/code and modifying as I need, learning along the way.

So for me, the best "tutor" for java, was minecraft (decompiled so I could modify/add plugins/etc) https://bukkit.gamepedia.com/Plugin_Tutorial

My first ever language was probably LUA, then I moved on to C++, C# and Javascript.

LUA: Lua is probably one of the most easiest languages I've ever learned.

C++: This is one of the harder ones that takes time to learn. Possibly even years to fully understand.

C#: A simplified version of C++, I suggest learning this language first.

Javascript: Javascript is pretty similar to Lua, has its differences but still a very good language.

Used to be basic on a Commodore 64. Never did much with it unless I first got into Visual Basic 6. Script Kiddie Programming Language, but yeah it was so easy to make Windows forms based applications.
