What would happen with these prankcalls?

So most of us know "The Purge", right?

If someone would cut off the part until the trap music starts and play the "normal" part through series of prankcalls.
Would people actually believe it and start doing fucked up shit, or will they be scared shitless?

Kinda wanting to try this but afraid of people actually going on a murder spree.
