I was once called onsite for a network drop not working and I was going in cold without any documentation. Iarriveonsite and they lead me to a office with a desk and network dropnear the desk and another drop near a guest chair and coffee table on the other side of the room. I was told that when the guy at the desk is using his computer guests cant get online and when the guest is online he has no internet. I grab my trustytoner get to work and find that the cable wasspliced into two cables so he essentially had one drop in the office he was trying to put two devices on which was causing a conflict. I rewire everything correctly and get him back up and running and on the way out he says he has one other problem. Everytime he turns off his office light his computer turns off along with his clock he has to reset everyday. It dawns on me at thatmoment he was using an unlicensed electrician to do all the wiring in the building he said the entire building had weird issues with the power. I let him know I can fix the internet but im not qualified to fixstupidity.

OH BOY DO I HAVE STORIES ABOUT STUPID PEOPLE

I used to work on customer service/support for this big telecom company here in the US that was also an ISP. So, with our internet packages you got a free router. You know, basic shit..
One time we had this woman call in and ask us about this router, and she was furious..
This is the big gist of the whole convo we had:
The woman is "-" and I'm the "+".

- So this so called WIRELESS ROUTER I have in here in my hand... Is it really wireless......?
+ Yes, ma'am. It transmits your internet wireless to your devices as long as-
- THIS ROUTER HAS A FUCKING POWER CORD, HOW ARE YOU LEGALLY ABLE TO CALL IT WIRELESS!?
+[Image: ER1BVDz.png](dumbfounded beyond anything)
- HELLO!? ARE YOU STILL THERE!?
+ Uhm, yes ma'am. I'm still here, sorry for being quiet.May I just ask you... How do you think the router would get power otherwise...?
- I don't fucking know? Have you heard of batteries? It's fucking2016 for gods sake, you should've figured out how by now.(it was 2016 at the time)

TL;DR after this:
She got transferred to my manager and demanded a minimum of$1000 in compensation or she would file a lawsuit for "false advertisement".
He laughed and hung up on her.. We haven't heard from her since.

That's fucking funny!

I used to work in a call center a few years ago, and 50% of the salesmen did coke in the bathroom regularly...

When I was working for an MSP an elderly gentlemen calls in and says hes been trying to find a specific key on his keyboard.

I ask him what key hes looking for since some laptops have function keys it sounded like a normal request at first.

He tells me he has been searching for over an hour for the "anykey".

I try not to laugh and tell him its not a specific key on the keyboard and that any key would work.

He gets aggravated and again tells me hes been looking for the anykey for over an hour and it doesn't exist.

I agree with him and tell him to push... any... key... on the keyboard spacing out any and key.

We go around and around no matter how I try to explain it he just doesn't get it so I tell him to just push the spacebar.

He says "ahh the key with no label no wonder I couldn't find it" and hangs up.

I sat there in shock wondering if I was on the end of a joke but the guy was so old I think it really happened.
