Which came first? The chicken or the egg?

I really need this question solved, once and for all!

Egg. It would have been laid by a proto-chicken. Something not quite genetically identifiable as a chicken. The egg would contain just enough genetic mutation so as to differentiate it from its parent, and as the source of the first true chicken.

well, following the bible theory is the chicken. god created a grown up man and not a baby, so there would be no reason to create an egg instead of a chicken

There had to be an evelutionary step before the chicken which layed an egg with a mutated thing inside that later became a chicken. So: The egg.

That is a scientific question my good sir! It depends on if you look at it based on wether the chicken came from an egg because of evolution or wether the chicken came from mutation and then layed eggs
