Why do people lie?

Have you ever stopped to think about the reasons that lead you to lie? This is a very tricky path, isn't it?

Lie to hide something bad that you did, lie not to ruin a surprise party, lie to hide some failure, lie not to hurt someone that you like... Anyway, the reasons are as diverse and / or different as possible.

So, what would be your motive / justification for lying?

Whats your worstlie you have ever done?

I think people like to lie about things to give them a sense of reality that they want to have/be true but cant really achieve it so they do so with a lie. Its hard to justify lies i think. but i mean ive had many small white lies ive told in the past. its sometimes also for the sake of convenience

I see a white lie is something nice to make the other person/situation, but this could always come back on you and bite you right on the arse!
Whats been the worst lie you ever made?

i think the worst lie i ever had would probably be when i told my parents i was going out with friends to hangout at their place but i went to a club and got plasterd instead ahaha

Lol, thats a very common lie for the young people! the amount of times i had to use this lie is unbelievable, my mum was way to overprotective. worth it though =]

Yeah my parents seem to be very over proctective im by no means young and this was al ie i had told when i was younger. i generally dont tell big lies just small white ones for the sake of saving time

Iknow what you mean bro, im now 31, and my friends arent all there in the head, so when i go out for the night i have to make pinky promises with my mum "no fighting, no drugs or not a stupid late night" your mum that over protective bro? lmao

The problem we lie is because we always be scared of something and become dishonest

When people lie it's usually to cover up something that other people don't wanna know. Although if your asking why some people compulsively lie it's cause they want attention.

People lie because they believe their lies and think that it is acceptable. Normally to try and defer blame from themselves.
