Why is darkrp so popular?

Its so easy to jump into any server and straight away feel at home. Good server and community wide attitude towards other players. Server mods tend to be hot on their heels with preventing unfairness

theres just always something to do, and most server have a community to get stuck in

In all honesty, the game is very customizable and quite elaborate. The source engine does have its limits, but it allows you to tinker with things other games don't. With Gmod, you still have that cstrike:source feeling when you're running around so I think that's why people are drawn to DarkRP mostly.

Not to mention it's a very social environment you can creatively express yourself in.

People just enjoy the freedom of it, you can basically do anything

DarkRP offers serious roleplaying features aswell as a little more free / sloppy roleplay semi serious which most people prefer. Some RP gamemodes dont even allow building which breaks the purpose of GMOD a bit in my opinion.

Because the community is immune to change. They just want one thing and it's disgusting.

Its probably so popular because of the amount of memes you can make, you dont have to be serious about anything basically, and its pretty fun, its like a tycoon but more immersive

Its so popular since it allows you jumping into a role you wouldnt be able to do in reallife. Also it is kinda fun to experience different situations and actually learn from that.
