Why is the Gmod community SO TOXIC?

i think when people stack up on money they have nothing left to do but kill players and ruin the experience

I think it stems from DarkRP mostly. Kids get raided, lose their shit, and then take that anger of losing their precious money printersout by backdooring free scripts they find off codefodder.

The Garry's Mod Community in the German area is not that toxic in my opinion. There are very many older and mature players.

Ya id agree but saying its mostly dependent on where your play and what sorta people are running the community. If its like adults 25+ they mostly don't have the (Look at me! Look at me!) spotlight desire, But rather just are old dog players that wanted somewhere to play and made one. Which is where I pref to play.... No begging for donations to keep server alive, Adult brains to deal with solutions, Its just a good recipe at that point. when its not like ecommerce driven

Hey man, sure there are toxic people on Garry's Mod, there are toxic people on every game. It is more noticeable on Garry's Mod because the game is split into communities where most people know each other. In most games, people don't make the servers so there is nobody to be taken advantage of in the same way people can take advantage of others in Garry's Mod. As someone who plays Clone Wars RP, I've had my fair share of backstabbers who backstabbed me into getting banned after I left the community (Yes, this has happened on multiple occasions). You'll most likely run into some bad apples, but it doesn't compare to the nice people you meet on that game.

True that, especially on RP servers because you have so many people being power hungry. I mean age doesn't matter honestly as long as the person running it is mature enough to handle, which obviously is more likely to happen if you have an older person running it, but even then you'll run into bad apples as people of all ages will be on whatever server you play on.

I think it's so toxic cause it's just like the internet. They don't feel any kind of connection with another player when they backdoor an addon, they put it out there and couldn't feel bad cause they don't know the person. Same for people that MRDM, Minge, etc. it's cause they're having fun and it wouldn't cross their mind that, "Hey maybe I shouldn't do this, this guys just trying to have fun." It's a common problem with games, just it seems to be a bit worse with gmod since there's no set in stone objective for a lot of gamemodes. Or people have met the objective multiple times by then and are looking for a new way to have fun.

Point is, just report and avoid minges. Let the staff of the server do their thing. :sip:

They are not toxic, they are militant.

Kids are just little shits. Just crash their server if they give you an attitude.

Thankfully ive had like 2 experiences in my 6+ years playing gmod ive had a few bad ones obviously because who hasnt but thankfully i guess ive been lucky and ended up in the non toxic friendly communities in gmod
