Hey!

It's been a while since I've created a thread here. So, I'm planning on making a forum which is of course, a general themed one. And I was wondering if I should go with XenForo because of how feature-rich it is or MyBB because of how lightweight (!?) it is.

I am someone who likes to do stuffs for the long run so yeah!
Also, I am good with both the softwares but I need something which can be edited a lot (like NulledBB, which Aoki did a great job).

Have a wonderful day!

I have a few tips for you. Starting with the software, go either vBulletin or Mybb and drop the concept of XenForo before it is too late. Secondly, get a proper niche as a general themed forum will die within a couple of weeks.

Stay with MyBB if you want to make outstanding edits to the theme and the code.

Alright. I'm going with MyBB. Are there any base/frameworks that I can use to start styling it? Or should I heavily edit an existing theme?

I like xenforo. It somehow just feels "pro". Can't really explain it. I wouldn't use it though without license because most hosts are swift to shut down such websites. But you claim to have a license so use it? Hosts won't really bother you for plugins and themes.

If you've got the license then I'd say go with XenForo. I'd personally go with XenForo if I had a license because It has got many new features and overall I like it better than MyBB.
