Of course, someone could still deobfuscate it if they really wanted to, but it'dprevent a lot of clients from tweaking/editing stuff.

Try to get more professional way, dude. IonCube and Zend is the best for now. Yeah, I know, it's expensive but your money is worth it.

I agree with Lintahdarat, IonCube or Zend is worth spending the money on - harder to unonfuscate.

Why would you obfuscate PHP when PHP is Server side no one else than you won't see it unless you gave someone ftpcredentialsor SFTP or whatever.
