Work as a team when you can and yes, i know how most cod players just rush in and try to kill everything that moves, but those players are either owned by the oposite team (that most probably work as a team) or by a "progamer" (in other words the one man who carries the entire army). Working as a team will win you games.
As for getting kills and minimizing your deaths, the only advice i can give thats has not been covered by other people is to not reload after every kill. Shooting and killing alerts other nearby players of your position (and if the red dot in the radar dosen't tell them where you are the skull floating above their dead teammate will) and reloading will leave you vulnerable and ripe for the killing so try to reload when having 5 bullets left in the mag and theres no enemies nearby.

P.S: It's better to switch to your pistol if you run out of ammo and theres someone shooting you, not only is quicker than reloading but pistols kill with 2-3 shots to the body and they dont spread as much as semi-automatic rifles (its suprising that most people forget about their pistols and get killed because the other player reloaded faster)

You could easily get a cheat and then just kill everybody, since vac and smac are noob anti cheats
