how do you get people to join your gmod server

Here's a tip: Get many staff members, restrict them to play on the server, on their application tell them that they will have to agree to be active at all times. basically torture them.

Make an Youtube Video!

Be original, be fun, have nice staff and make sure you dont sell out for donation money, its about the fun of the game, not the business of a server.

Still trying to figure this one out for myself. So far having the content I do, people seem to really like the server more then most DarkRP. I've gottem commends like "I really like this server" "This is way better then others" "This server is very well put together". So this is all good but my player-base is still not where i'd like it to be.

The best way to get people to your server is mainly advertisement, so long as it does not disrupt other servers and stuff.

If the server is on your computer then you need to open ports 27015 or 27016, if you hosting then just say the IP to friends.

Get YouTubers to feature your server in their videos - this is the most efficient way imo.

Call friends and wait until people find your server

If you are trying to get people to join a DarkRP server get M9K, Criminal Jobs and fast DL the kids love it
