what do you guys think?


Death panalty yes or is it a too brutal, "antique" punishment?

I would settle for much more brutal things like straight up torture depending on the crime.
I would definitely bring back the death penalty, but I would only allow it under very specific conditions like full conclusive evidence, pleading guilty with evidence that points to the suspect, psychiatric evaluation, etc.
A life is a life, a human life shouldn't be somehow more valued than an animal's.

Locking people up, killing them is straight up stupid. This wont teach them.

The death penalty is special because it is so flawed, so many more innocents died on the chair than the guilty because like most governments, even if they know you are innocent you will die any way because of a half assed investigation. So the death penalty should be given to people who have been proven with solid evidence of crimes and not just kill people left, right and centre

In most cases, it is actually cheaper to incarcerate an offender in prison for the remainder of their life than to issue a death penalty.

Im all for the death penalty, and torture and all that. Honestly I think it still needs to be in place. Prisons seem better then most very low class homes, which shouldn't be right. Prisons and all that should be terrible, like they wee in the 1700/1800

Only applies to death penalties using modern methods and meeting 'ethical' standards. That's how they inflate the numbers up over a million bucks. Also, they try to take into account post-trial prosecutors, lawyers, cost of execution time, lethal chemical compounds, etc.
Hire a private hitman for five grand and watch how fast that price drops (assuming the actual trial and prosecution cost are the same as if capital punishment was legal or illegal.)

But then it becomes less than legal. You raise very valid points, and a pretty good counterargument. The only thing that comes into question from our two points of view is the person(s) issuing the execution.

Death, its a waste of time and resources to keep scum alive. Though it depends on the crime they've committed. If its rape, murder etc then they deserve to die but if its just robbery, assault etc then I see no problem with them being in prison for a certain amount of time.
