"How are you Sir?"
"Fine thank you, youself?"
"I'm doing very well sir, thank you. Room for one I assume?"
"Yes, only me."
"Not a problem sir..... Oh...."
"Oh? What's the matter?"
"Well sir, it seems we only have one room available."
"Right, so is it bad or something? I don't mind, I won't be here for long, just the night."
"Not at all sir, we normally don't let this room out to individual stayers. That's all."
"Well, can you make an exception? Otherwise I really have nowhere else to go at this point."
"..."
"I mean it is available right?"
"Y-Yes... absolutely sir, one moment please"

The Clerk hands me the card, and I make my way up the hotel, escalator numbers racing through one at a time. With 7 highlighted, I had reached my floor.

The corridors were what you'd expect. Patterned carpet, paintings every 2 doors on the wall, lights seperating the doors. I make my way down the corridor, room three-one-two-eight. I take the key in hand, and place it in the key hole. Why won't it turn? "Come on you fucking piece of shit" harder and harder I turn and twist this key, redining my hand with each twist.

"Why won't it turn... come on- jesus chris-"
"Excuse me" the fainest voice behind me sounds.
I turn only, to be greetest with the staff Porter staring at me.
"Yes hello" in a exhausted breathe I gasped.
"May I help with that sir?"
"Oh yes, it won't turn"
"Yes, it gets stuck sometimes sir"

He takes the key from my hand, inserts it into the door, and without a hint of power or strain, unlocks the door.

"There you go sir, may I help you with your luggage?"
"No that'll be all thank you. Have a nice night."
"You too sir."

I close the door behind me and enter the room. I start unpacking my things, I go into the shower, I bathe, I change out of my clothes and I lay on the bed. Ten minutes pass, I hear nothing. Unusual. Twenty, Still nothing. Half an hour, not a single pin drop to be heard. I mean it's not awfully too weird it is the middle of the night. I turned off the lights and put my head down.

Clink, Clonk, Clink, Clonk, Clonk
"Hu-u-huh..." in my half asleep stupor I mumor
Scritch, Clonk, Scrutch, Clink, Clank
"What- what the hell is that noise"

I get up.

Scratch, Clink, Clink, Clink
I try and turn on the lights, nothing.
Clink, Clank, Clonk

"Why won't you turn!" I hear from the other side of the door.

"Excuse me? I'm sorry sir, I think you've got the wrong room. Someone is already in here." I yell through the door.

"Come on!" the anonymous voice sounds.

Someone's trying to get in. I try and open the door, nothing. It's locked.

"Where's the key.... Where's the fucking key"

I put my eye to the keyhole, a body only to view.

"why won't you turn.."
"Excuse me" I hear that faint voice again.
"Yes?"
"May I help you with that sir? The door to three-one-two-nine gets stuck"

"three-one-two-nine?" I faintly ask myself.
"My room is three-one-two-eight"

I check my reservation card
10th October 2017,
Room: 3128
Floor: 7
Signed: Yes

"Excuse me sir-" I bellow through my door "It seems you've got the wrong room, this is three-one-two-eight, not three-one-two-nine".

I hear nothing but the strangers outside my door, not a word in response. I peep my eye once more through the keyhole.
"Wait... he's....he's the clerk, why isn't he downstairs, he handed me the card why..... why would he-"

"There you go sir, may I help you with your luggage?" the clerk replies.


NOTE: Was pretty tired when I wrote this, not a typical scary story, but something weird and differen't. Wrote because I was bored.
