My favorite mode is "Inventory Tweaks", which allows me to navigate very quickly and easily.

Optifine, and ThaumCraft
Optifine for optimizes minecraft and gives more Fps, and makes more playable on old computers,
Thaumcraft is a good magic themed mod, with many crafting recipes, and mini golems

I really like the "Morph" Mod for Forge. Sadly its only avalible for 1.7

I think Tinkers' Construct with all it's addons. It's super refreshing when the whole crafting table concept is changed to a something even better and bigger.

I really like Pixelmon. Pokemon in minecraft is a really cool thing.
