Do you think mankind is heading in the right direction?

I find myself asking the same question often since I've started rewatching Star Trek and seeing how it aged in comparison to our progress up to date. I'd say there is a lot, and I mean a lot of room for improvement, but we're doing fine. We could be doing a lot worse, but a lot of people are trying to make stuff better, and I'd rather be an optimist and wrong than a pessimist and right.

I think that we are not. I'm seeing in my city more and more contamination day by day and no one is saying nothing about that.
There are good actions in some places but the wrong ones are more in my opinion

Absolutely, any progress is better than no progress at all. Politics aside, of course.

Honestly it could be even worse, I think it's ok for now ... things are changing slowly but they're changing.

not really , i think the direction we are going is going to be our downfall, even the gorilla that learned sing language said that we are a bit stupid, (deceased now :( ), so we have to take care of some things in my opinion

I do and do not think mankind is going in the right direction. There will forever be problems on this planet and not everything we can change. And we cannot forget the past is kinda repeating itself, but technology and medicine have come a long way. Mankind has come a long way... so in someways since more and more people are becoming more aware of the issues that need to be faced, I think we'll slight head into a better direction if these people that want to make a change, make it happen.

The world definitely isn't going in the right direction. Don't mean to be a negative nancy, but you look at the world's polluted oceans, our depleting ozone layer, the growing tensions in the middle east, Russia's increasing hostility, territorial disputes over the South China Sea and other areas between countries in Asia, neglecting third-world countries starving and dying of disease in Africa, the U.S. president recently withdrawing from a nuclear arms treaty, and you really think we're even close to moving in the right direction? No, we're pretty much fucked. There's nothing even the people who run around like headless chickens over at the UN can do now.

Depends if the idea of the right direction is an individual's perception/translation or if it's the one influenced and coerced by the powers that be via media etc.
