Do you think mankind is heading in the right direction?

I'm... not sure. We're approaching climate conditions that are functionally world ending for us, and even now there's a 'debate' over whether climate action should be mandated in many places, on a topic that was scientifically decided almost half a century ago. We're finally seeming to get over the hump, but I guess it feels like we aren't going in the right direction fast enough.

It's always worth giving a shit. Even if mankind is actually doomed, there's still an entire planet of life on the line that could some day reach the point where we failed. Improving the odds in any way possible may not be enough to save humanity, but it could be enough to save /something/ at least. We're experiencing an extinction event that rivals all but the worst mass extinctions in history. Every bit helps at this point.

I think we are heading in the right direction; granted we're struggling not making one step forward and two back.
As a humanist and transhumanist I can't be focused on the past alone, the future brings a lot that will be of use to the human race.
We probably just need to be a little bit more compassionate, it'll go a long way.

Yeah, but it could always be better than what we have now.

As long as weapons of mass murder are easily obtained in the US, then mankind is going in the wrong direction.
