Counter-Strike lost alot of users during the gambling scandel but the true fans of counter-strike stayed. Although with there recent decision to make the game free to play and you can get Prime without phone verification is slowely killing the game. Since it's easier then ever to cheat in the game.

I think it's mostly about gaming releases, so many players discover other games and go to give a try, but I can absolutely confirm what most of the users here told you, we always come back to it.

There still a little bit of a community left haha mostly screaming.

I think that cs does not die. It has some downtime, which shows that it can be so, but players will still play it and this is from sentiments and are new players, so cs will always live once well and once worse

Due to gambling problem it lost many players. But there are still people playing it.

I also think the game pretty much died nowadays. The last time where I felt like the community was actually still at a significant size was around 2017 and with all the F2P and BR stuff I just think it's going to get worse with hackers taking over and even less gamemodes and maps that valve will actually care about.

Counter-strike is not dead, its still the most played FPS game out there i think. Casually people might change to play other games, but cs:go has always had a shitton of players, even tho it feels like its getting worse and worse.
