Pc or Laptop For editing?

i wanna ask for your suggestion what do you think which one is the best for editing pc or laptop?

pc definitely. need more processing power

Desktop PC's have more power then laptops so use a desktop

Usually a pc is way better, but for mobility u can go with a laptop, there are quite good laptops for editing out there

It depends on you. If you want to have a lot of power for cheap then go for a desktop pc. If you can deal with higher prices and/or slower processors then go for a laptop (it's convenient if you travel a lot). But if you want to do it professional then you should obviously go for a desktop. I personally use both. I use my laptop at school and my pc at home. But then I'm just doing something that doesn't take a lot of cpu usage on my laptops and do the 3d stuff, etc on my pc.

It's possible to get by with a laptop if it's for a hobby and you are just editing proxy footage in software like Premiere, but if you plan to work professionaly and need to color correct as well with 4k or native footage formats, the suggestion to use a PC is probably for the guidance if you have the budget. Looking up benchmarks for the software you will be using should be a good starting point for hardware. If you need to meet with a client at a location and possibly edit with over the shoulder feedback, nowadays you might be able to use a tablet with a mouse and keyboard via a USB hub and remote into the PC desktop using apps like Teamviewer.

You can get laptops with PC performance so it is no longer about if one can or can't do it. It will depend on your budget and workflow. Then again, PC is usually always a safe bet if you don't need to be edit on the go.

PC always wins performance wise on the same budget, but if you have the money it's just preference

A pc is always best but it depends on how heavy your editing is
